New Delhi, July 22, 2026: Ampverse DMI's youth gaming and entertainment platform RIVALS has expanded its footprint in India's esports ecosystem with the launch of Pro Rivals, a new national competitive esports property, while simultaneously kicking off the fourth and largest edition of College Rivals.
The expansion marks a significant step for the platform as it broadens its reach beyond collegiate gaming into professional esports, creating year-round competitive opportunities for players across the country.
Pro Rivals Attracts Nearly 1,000 Teams Nationwide
The inaugural edition of Pro Rivals is being held from July 17 to July 29, 2026, drawing nearly 1,000 teams from across India for a six-round online national competition.
The tournament features a total prize pool of ₹7 lakh, with the champions set to receive ₹3 lakh, runners-up ₹2 lakh and the third-placed team ₹1 lakh. Individual awards worth ₹50,000 each will also be presented to the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the Fan Favourite.
The fully online competition will conclude with India's top teams battling for the inaugural Pro Rivals championship title.
"Pro Rivals represents the next step in the evolution of the RIVALS platform. As gaming communities continue to mature, players are looking for more opportunities to compete at a higher level and challenge themselves against stronger opposition. With Pro Rivals, we're expanding the RIVALS experience beyond campuses and have created a new stage for competitive play that complements College Rivals and strengthens the overall RIVALS ecosystem," said Charlie Baillie, Co-Founder & Group CEO, Ampverse.
College Rivals Season 4 Scales Up Nationwide
College Rivals Season 4 officially began in Pune on July 20 and is set to become the platform's biggest collegiate esports season yet.
The competition will reach more than 100 colleges across over 40 cities, featuring tournaments in BGMI Solo, BGMI Female, BGMI Squad and EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile.
Students will also have access to community gaming experiences through the RIVALS Arcade, designed to enhance campus engagement beyond competitive gaming.
Chess Debuts as Competitive Title
For the first time, Chess will be introduced as a competitive title on the platform, with online tournaments taking place across participating colleges and cities.
Beyond esports, College Rivals Season 4 will continue to blend gaming with music, creator collaborations, pop culture and immersive campus experiences, reinforcing the platform's youth-focused approach.
"With Season 4, we're significantly expanding the scale and experience of College Rivals, reaching more campuses, introducing new formats like Chess, and creating more ways for students to engage with gaming and youth culture. Alongside this, Pro Rivals extends the RIVALS platform by bringing together professional organisations and emerging teams in a national competition, giving players and fans new ways to experience RIVALS throughout the year," said Sumedha Mahajan, India Business Head, Ampverse DMI.
India's Esports Market Continues to Grow
According to industry estimates, India's mobile gaming and esports market was valued at approximately US$1.1 billion in 2025 and is projected to grow to US$2.4 billion by 2029. As participation continues to rise, structured competitions and community-driven platforms such as RIVALS are expected to play an increasingly important role in shaping the next phase of the country's gaming ecosystem.
